Jay Vitale is the CEO and founder of the revolutionary technology company Air For Life and a valued customer at our Milton Keynes Business Centre . He has recently been honoured as the South East Global Entrepreneur of The Year 2023 for his undeniable drive and ambition to make an impact on people’s lives. Read on to find out more about the revolutionary technology his organisation developed and how it could change everyone’s lives for the better!
Be a breath of fresh air
Jay initially began to study medicine at the Guys Kings St Thomas Trust, with the aim to become a doctor. But he left mid-way through in 2006 with a desire to make an even bigger positive impact and change the world for the better.
With the backdrop of the SARS outbreak and a determination to harness advancing technology to better the health of the global population, Jay looked for solutions to improve air quality. Drawing on a network of forward-thinking people built from his longstanding interest in space travel, Jay decided to team up with industry-leading Professor Nabarun Ghosh . Based in Texas, USA Professor Gogh had been at the forefront of developing NASA technology for the consumer market.
The top tech that caught his imagination was initially developed for the Mars Rover 2020 mission. The ionising technology was originally used to eliminate ethylene gas produced by fresh fruit and vegetables. In 2002, Jay and Professor Ghosh set up their research and development company Stateside to explore and harness the exciting NASA technology.
Air For Life’s pioneering ionising technology is based on a process that occurs in our most natural landscapes, such as mountains and coasts. The negative ions found in these environments have many far-reaching health benefits including, improving mood, enhancing sleep quality and even eliminating nasty bacteria and aggravating allergens. Air For Life has since successfully used advanced nanotechnology to develop a range of sleek, compact ioniser products that improve indoor air quality.
The remarkable products are market-leading and have the capacity to change the way we all live in the future. Jay explains:
“Air For Life is the next generation of air purifiers; it neutralises even the most harmful bacteria within only five minutes of use, it is extremely efficient and very easy to use. Without messy filters to deal with, our customers enjoy fresh indoor air without the additional cost, maintenance or space associated with traditional air purifiers.”
Returning home to launch
In 2017, after years of hard work developing the technology and engineering the products to harness innovation, Jay moved back to the UK. He decided to relocate to his home area of Milton Keynes, as a British Government-approved health technology company.
Jay has a sense of corporate social responsibility and is keen to create opportunities for his local community, to bolster the British economy by exporting his products and wants to inspire future generations to do the same.
Space for progression
Starting his UK business from a desk in his father’s Capital Space office, Jay enjoyed the facilities on offer and even called upon his father’s engineering skills to develop the initial products. With the support of his family and the Global Entrepreneur Program , Jay’s business flourished and he needed more space. After a short time at another premises, Jay returned to Capital Space this year. He explains what led him back to the Milton Keynes Business Centre:
“The flexible monthly rental agreement and ability to scale up is a huge plus point for my business. The facilities are great and Matt and the team here are lovely.”
Jay now has a team of eight full-time staff and five part-time staff, all of whom come into the Milton Keynes office to work together on their big ambitions for the future. Already Air for Life exports its products to more than 30 countries, with contracts and partnerships with global brands across multiple sectors, including, automotive, hospitality and medical. With such an impressive growth story, it is no surprise that Jay enjoys the flexibility of his workspace at Milton Keynes Business Centre.
