Building long term success from our business centres
When you run a business, having a supportive community behind you can drive its success. Our centres offer our customers the chance to connect and network with each other, which can help them to grow. This has certainly been the case for Paul Woodger, who has based his creative design agency, Mivvy Creative Ltd, in our Kings Hill Centre for six years. He shared why he is still delighted with Capital Space.
A creative business with a personal touch
From the very start, Paul has built the success of Mivvy Creative on continuously supporting their customers and building strong long-term client relationships: “When we come on board, we support where the support is needed.” He explains that Mivvy often starts by supplying one project to their clients. “But,” he says, “it’s always with the old branch of, if you need extra support, want to ask us for advice, or if you’re stuck with something you’re creating and you want to run it by someone, just fire it over. And more often than not, people will take you up on that. And that then gives you the grounds for developing that relationship. We’re fair, I think, and try and help people as much as we can.”
The benefits of being part of a Capital Space business community
Working in a Capital Space business centre, our customers are surrounded by like-minded SMEs who they can connect with, via our networking events, or even, as Paul found, through conversations in our communal kitchens at Churchill Square Business Centre. He says: : “We’ve worked with several Capital Space customers over the years including most recently; Paradigm who are a print management business, Navis who are an accountancy business and GTDS who work for national power companies. Just by being in the square and having conversations, often in the kitchen, we’ve built relationships and gained clients who pick up on our willingness to help and can-do attitude.”
Paul adds, “Mivvy has thrived being part of the community of the square and having the opportunity to support, network and work alongside other like-minded businesses who are passionate about what they do”.
As a Capital Space client, Paul knows the value of a good working environment. “I’d say the development of our business has happened through being on site, making the most of the facilities and cultivating relationships through conversation.”
A workspace with a window that opens and a door that shuts
Before moving into Capital Space six years ago, Paul’s creativity was stifled by working in a space with no windows so when the business was ready for new premises, he knew exactly what he wanted, “somewhere with natural light, with a window and the option to close the door so I could concentrate without distractions. An open co-working space just wasn’t right for me, and Capital Space offered the perfect solution when compared to the other options available. As a designer, we work with large files and when creating websites having fast Wi-Fi is non-negotiable. The free parking for the team and our clients and access to larger meeting rooms for photoshoots and client meetings when we needed them was the icing on the cake. The flexibility of that you don’t really get elsewhere. Overall, it was a reasonably priced, convenient package.”
As a company that has expanded and moved to a larger office within the business centre already, Paul explained the convenience of the process at Capital Space: “All it takes is a quick email to the helpful team on the front desk to say, ‘We’re thinking of moving offices.’ And they’ll tell you what’s available or put you on a waitlist. You haven’t got to change your address apart from your office number. You haven’t got to re-educate clients on where you are or lose the relationships built already. So moving is simple and easy.”
