Challenging competition by focusing on the customer experience
Sometimes it’s not about finding a niche, but creating one, which is exactly what business partners, Rob Carey and Rob Hewett did when setting up their company Paradigm Business Solutions, which provides businesses with print and technology products and services. Both veterans in the industry, they realised there was one thing missing from their competitors and set about building a company centred around this. Founded in 2023 and based in Churchill Square Business Centre, Rob Carey explains how the expanding company’s business model differentiates them from the competition.
Shifting the focus from products to customer service
Paradigm Business Solutions knew to be successful it had to set itself apart from the industry leaders and find a niche offering which would leave its customers happy.
Rob explained: “We knew that the industry was crying out for a company that put the customer first, for a lot of the large organisations, the customers are just a number. The way we see it, the industry is full of smoke and mirrors, bad customer care, inflexible contracts, and leaves the customer feeling a little bit frustrated, annoyed at the service they’re getting. So, we decided to start Paradigm Business Solutions.”
To succeed in differentiating, the company has ingrained a goal to put customers first into their mission and is building a team which shares this vision: “Our motto is right advice, right service, right product. So even if we don’t win the business here and now, you know, we’re giving the client the right advice for the future.”
Furthermore, they have ensured their contracts are in their clients’ best interest, giving them a fixed quarterly cost for the servicing of their machines (such as printers). Their clients only pay for what they use with a straight lease and service agreement.
Finding a space with the potential to evolve with the business
In the early stages, a start up often may not have the funds to invest in office space or know exactly what their workspace needs will be in the near future as the company grows, which is why, Rob explained, Capital Space provided the perfect solution, as well as being conveniently local.
“It was an easy decision to make really, the workspace and grounds are nice, clean and tidy. We wanted an office that would cater to our current needs and also our future needs so when we grow, we can still access space allied to our growth plan. So, we’ve got an office at the moment that would fit probably four desks and as we grow we will need more office space and hopefully warehouse space in the future too.”
A professional environment without the overheads
Whether you have a small or large workspace, being a Capital Space customer, you will have access to our facilities and our team, who are always on hand to help, which Rob shared has been invaluable to their business:
“It caters to everything we need. The meeting rooms are good are great as are the team, even for silly little things like if I need like a hole punch, they’ll find me one. They’re so friendly, always smiling, every time I walk past, they always say hello, I can’t recommend them highly enough.”
