A warm welcome for our newest team members at Churchill Square Business Centre
It is always a pleasure to have new additions to our team. We’re delighted to be joined by three new staff members at our Kings Hill site, Churchill Square Business Centre. Two new Business Support Co-ordinators and a Facilities Handyperson have just settled in to life at the Kent business hub. We spoke to all of our new starters as they get to grips with their new roles.
Our Business Support Co-ordinators
New Business Support Co-ordinator Lesley Bevis is no stranger to the industry having worked at a local business centre for 14 years. Living in Maidstone, Lesley enjoys reading, walking, and spending time with friends and family.
“I applied for this job because I previously worked on a business centre reception, which was on a very smaller scale to Churchill Square! I enjoy meeting new people and the variety of the job role makes no two days the same! I enjoy setting up meeting rooms, post and general day to day duties, arranging additional keys to units and trying to remember names and faces, which is somewhat challenging!”
Lesley is joined by Jen Banner-Gregory who also brings business experience as she was a senior receptionist at a local spa. Jen is recently married and spends her time cooking and travelling. Her travels included volunteering in Brazil as an English teacher.
“I joined Churchill Square Business Centre in November 2021. I had just been on my honeymoon in Turkey – I flew home on the Friday and started my new job on the Monday. It was all a bit of a whirlwind!
Previously, I was Head Spa Receptionist for three years. I applied for this job because I wanted to try something new and meet new people. I have enjoyed learning new things and I’m still getting to grips with customers’ names!”
From BT to CSBC for Mark
After many years at British Telecom, Mark Gladden was keen to keep active- especially after the impact of the pandemic. The Facilities Handyperson role is a perfect fit for Mark which makes use of his practical experience and excellent customer services skills.
“I worked for BT since I left school, starting as an apprenticeship. I would work in customers’ premises providing mega stream before the internet came along. I then moved into a planning role, and I was stuck at a desk all day. I enjoyed it but working from home during the pandemic was not the same as going into an office and doing the job.
“When I left BT, I knew I wanted to do something practical, which is why I applied for the job of Facilities Handyperson. It was also local, on a site with interesting history and lots of buildings, which appealed to me. I am enjoying the physical work and being part of a team again.”
A big welcome to Lesley, Jen and Mark who have all settled in very well to life in Kings Hill. We look forward to seeing their progress in 2022.
