Celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee!
This year marks The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee , marking 70 years since her accession to the throne. Queen Elizabeth II, who was only 25 years old when she ascended to the throne on February 6, 1952, will be the first British monarch to reach this milestone. Pretty impressive right? We certainly think so!
In celebration of her success and dedication to the country, we decided to give all our sites a jubilant transformation… Carry on reading to see what we are getting up to!
Plant a tree for the Jubilee
The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) is a unique tree planting initiative created to encourage people from across the United Kingdom to ‘Plant a tree for the Jubilee.’ With a focus on planting sustainably, the QGC invites people to plant trees in honour of The Queen’s leadership of the Nation, which will benefit future generations.
In commemoration of the QGC, we have planted six cherry trees at our Milton Keynes Business Centre site. Two of the new trees were funded by local MPs Ben Everitt and Iain Stewart, whilst Capital Space stumped up the cost of the remaining trees as evidence of the company’s environmental commitments. “Planting trees is a wonderful way to help reduce our carbon emissions, and simultaneously improves the surroundings of our business centres for our customers, so it was a no brainer that this was an initiative that we wanted to be a part of,” said centre manager Matt Roberts.
Raising the flag for Her Majesty
As a proud British company, we are commemorating The Queen’s success by making our sites look as regal as possible. To do so, flag poles have been installed around all our sites in the lead up to the Jubilee celebration, which is being held from the 2nd to the 5th of June.
Our Jubilee deals
Celebrating the Jubilee without tea and cake didn’t seem quite right. In honour of her majesty’s love of high tea, we will be offering an enticing meeting room deal between the 3rd of May and 1st of June in some of our centres. Waterhouse Business Centre in Chelmsford, Loughton Seedbed Centre and Capital Business Centre in Croydon will all offer complimentary Jubilee-themed cakes when hot drinks are ordered in conjunction with your meeting room booking. At St George’s Business Park in Sittingbourne, all meeting room users will be able to tuck into tempting cakes during the promotional period.
We hope you join in with the Jubilee celebrations and look forward to raising the Union Jack, and a lovely cup of tea in honour of Her Majesty The Queen.
