Chelmsford team make it to largest US dance championship
We’re excited to share that a dance studio based at Waterhouse Business Centre has made it to the most prestigious and largest dance championship in America. At Capital Space, we value our community and enjoy supporting those connected to our business centres, which is why we are pleased to have been able to help one of the dancers reach her dream of dancing in the States.
Chelmsford dance studio makes it to finals in America
Representing the UK in the Dance Summit Championship at Walt Disney World, Florida, next month is a dream come true for Power Cheer, a cheerleading, dance and gymnastics club which recently celebrated 10 years in business.
“This is massive for us,” said Sydni, who said she felt very proud of their achievement. “It’s the first time we have received a bid to go to the finals and we are taking two teams, not just one. It was always a dream of mine to get to this point. It’s mind blowing.”
Sydni, who competed herself as a youngster, added: “For the older girls, there is pressure as they truly understand what this means to the club and the opportunities it opens for them.”
Helping our business centre communities
To participate, each dancer must fund their own trip, including travel and accommodation. Among the dancers is Poppy, the daughter of Jeannene Murray-Brown, our deputy centre manager at Waterhouse Business Centre. To help Poppy get to the States, Jeannene has set up a GoFundMe page.
Wanting to show our support, Capital Space made a £1,000 donation to Poppy’s fundraiser. Jeannene admits she wept tears of joy when she saw the £1,000 donation from Capital Space on Poppy’s Go Fund Me page. “I saw it and was in such a state of shock. I thought ‘Holy Moly’! I was flabbergasted!”
The donation means that Jeannene has raised over half of the total amount required to fund the trip to America. To Capital Space, she said: “Poppy and I are so very grateful. Thank you for helping to make her dream a reality.“

At Capital Space, we’re happy to play a small role in helping our community thrive and we wish Poppy and her team the best of luck in Florida!
