Latest update from our Milton Keynes Business Centre team
Our business community is incredibly valuable to us at Capital Space and our team are known for going the extra mile in supporting our customers and contributing to their success. We are delighted to share two exciting developments from the Milton Keynes team members.
Fundraiser for local charity
One of the Milton Keynes business support coordinators, Roxanne Cuff, is raising money for the centre’s nominated charity, Harry’s Rainbow which is also one of our customers, operating out of the Milton Keynes site. The charity supports bereaved children through a wide range of services from trips and activities to therapeutic mentoring to help these children navigate through their grief and find hope in their lives again.
To raise money, on Sunday 28 April, Roxanne and her husband completed the Milton Keynes 25 mile walk challenge. It was no mean feat: walking 10km with a 10kg weighted backpack. The route started in one of Milton Keynes’ semi-ancient woodlands, Howe Park Wood, before traversing the Tattenhoe Valley to Furzton Lake and along the Loughton Valley to Lodge Lake.
Roxanne said: “Whilst this was a personal challenge, I wanted to do it for a good cause and thought this was a great opportunity to raise funds for our nominated charity and customer, Harrys Rainbow. It is also an eco-friendly way of doing so!”
She has so far raised a fantastic £475 and it’s not too late, you can still donate to her Just Giving page which you can access here!
New qualification for Centre Manager
Our centre manager in Milton Keynes, Matt Roberts, has recently achieved his professional Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors professional qualification which relates to his role and has boosted his skillset.
He shared how and why he achieved the qualification: “The RICS qualification links very well to my role at Capital Space as I divide my time between facilities management, customer service and sales-based activities.
“RICS now provide the opportunity to join the Chartered Institute as an Associate Member. To obtain Associate (also known as AssocRICS), you can choose from a selection of relevant pathways to achieve the designation. The best route for me was via the Facilities Management pathway. The process for obtaining my diploma took around 12 months and required the passing of an ethics course as well as providing proof of my industry experience, training and education, evidence of meeting a combination of both technical skills and knowledge as well as submitting a detailed case study.
“My submission was checked and seconded by Brad Critcher (MRICS) who acted as my sponsor, then submitted for assessment.
“Thankfully I was successful first time and now am looking to ensure my mandatory hours of CPD are completed this year.”
