Investing in Capital Space staff and infrastructure
In order to maintain the quality of service our customers are used to, we regularly conduct major maintenance and redevelopment ventures on our sites. We have recently invested in two of our sites: Loughton and Croydon, and are pleased to share the progress of these significant projects.
Loughton
At the Loughton Seedbed Centre, blocks A, B and C are being fitted with brand new roof covers as part of our commitment to energy efficiency. Capital Space is investing £150,000 in replacing the ageing covers, as the new roofs and thermal insulation will restrict heat transfer, making our workshops warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
We are also excited to introduce Loughton Seedbed’s new (this is a newly created role) Deputy Centre Manager: Natalia Skrzpiec who joined the team on 1 October.
Natalia joins us with a number of years’ experience working in administration and reception roles for companies in central London. Natalia started her career in admin for a central London financial brokerage firm. She said she used to top up the vending machines at the company before she was approached by the facilities manager. “He could see that I was a hard working person and wanted to give me an opportunity to be in reception.”
Sensing this was where she’d thrive, Natalia leapt at the opportunity, and within a month had impressed her bosses so much she was transferred to an admin role in the facilities team.
However, as a local mother of a seven-year-old daughter, Natalia made the switch to a shorter commute. When asked why she applied for the role at Loughton, Natalie said: “I like learning new things and wanted a new challenge. So far, I have spent four days in Harlow training with the centre manager Jack and the deputy centre manager Michelle. It was very nice over there. There is a lot to learn and I am looking forward to it.”
Now, Natalie hopes to combine her fulfilling career with family life; in her spare time, she says she loves baking and spending time with her daughter.
Croydon
The iconic tower that stood on the main reception building at the Capital Business Centre, Croydon, was removed in October. Though magnificent, the tower was causing leaking problems and has been replaced with another tower, which is half the size.
