Offering a personal experience to customers from a virtual office
We are delighted that Neil Johnson, who has previously visited our Churchill Square Business Centre as a customer, has decided to set up a virtual office here for his new company: Neil Johnson Property Agents. He shared with us how his start-up is different to your regular property agent, and why a Capital Space virtual office was a no brainer.
Finding a niche: a property agent with a difference
A seasoned professional, Neil has worked for a number of companies in the property industry since 2001. This year, he decided it was time to do his own thing, focusing on delivering higher quality services to fewer clients.
He explained: “For me, it’s all about the personal service. I want to avoid the usual office pass-around. When clients work with me, they get my full attention from the first meeting through to the completion of their property transaction. For example, I like to meet the purchaser with the keys, as opposed to the purchaser coming into the office and it being a bit of an anti-climax.”
For Neil, it’s creating long-lasting relationships with his clients which he believes will help give his business longevity: “The aim is to be the agent for every transaction that my clients make, not just this one time. I still speak to some people that I’ve sold a house to 20 years ago and I might now be dealing with their friends and their family. ’ It’s sort of a rolling on effect.”
Why virtual offices are a good first step for a start-up
For Neil, finding the right workspace was crucial from the outset. Having visited other customers of ours at Churchill Square Business Centre, such as his dentist, he was drawn to the atmosphere of our workspaces: “As a member of the public, I always found it great here, and now as a customer, it’s equally as good. Other places I have visited are nowhere near as friendly. Initially it was about having a business address, but the plan is to move into Churchill Square and use it as a physical office and then hopefully maybe have a bigger office. It’s a really friendly, convenient place to be.”
Currently, Neil has a virtual office, although he hopes to expand and employ more team members in the future. For Neil the benefits of the virtual office – aside from it providing him with a business address – include our supportive, professional service. “The team at Capital Space collect my post and answer some calls if I can’t get to the phone. It’s really those nice touches along the way. The experience with Capital Space has been brilliant from start to finish,” he notes.
Advice for other small business owners
We asked Neil what business tips he has learnt since starting his business in May, which he would pass onto fellow entrepreneurs or people looking to set up their own company: “For me, it’s important that doing my own thing is cemented. Keep it very simple and really don’t run before you can walk. Just one step at a time.“
